Privacy policy
LAST UPDATED 27 OCTOBER 2026
CameraFits is a camera-gear buying guide. You can use all of it without an account, and we collect as little as we can. This page says what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they find the site, so we know what to improve. It sets cookies and sends Google details such as the pages you view, your approximate location (country or city, from your IP address), and your device and browser type. We don't send Google your name, email or anything you type into the site.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics stays off until you allow it in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page. Elsewhere you can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on. Google's use of this data is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Retailer links
When you follow a link to a retailer such as Amazon, we log the click: which product, which retailer, which page you came from, and a code that changes every day so we can count distinct visitors without knowing who they are. We don't store your IP address. Once you're on the retailer's site, its own privacy policy and cookies apply; that is how the retailer knows a purchase came from CameraFits. See how CameraFits makes money.
Saved in your browser
Your compare list, the cameras in My gear, your last kit choice and your cookie choice are saved in your own browser (local storage). They never leave your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes them.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent personal data, we don't run ads, and we don't ask you to sign up. Prices and product details come from retailers' data feeds, not from you.
Service providers
The site is hosted on Vercel and its database on Neon, both in the United States. Like any web host, Vercel briefly processes request details such as IP addresses to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to its use. Because we don't keep anything that identifies you, there is usually nothing to find, but we'll always check. Email hello@camerafits.com.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
